SAK Stockholm has the honour to invite you to a unique meeting with MD Sima Samar who is the chairperson of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission. Among other international awards she has received the Right Livelihood Award, also called the alternative Nobel Peace Prize, in 2012.
Sima Samar was Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Women?s Affairs in Karzais first government from 2001. After graduation as MD in 1982 she was one of the founders of the first women?s hospital in Afghanistan in 1987.
Sima Samar will be interviewed by Khazar Fatemi, a Swedish film maker and SVT-reporter with assignments in Syria, Irak and Afghanistan. Khazar grew up in Afghanistan but left the country during the civil war in the nineties.
The event will be in English and not translated to Swedish.
